How to Shorten Your Affiliate Links and Increase Share-ability

Affiliate links can get really long. Especially when you enable the Google Analytics UTM parameter feature. Similar to how bit.ly can shorten a link and then it will redirect to the full length link, we provide a feature in the program builder page to shorten link URLs (eg.snwbl.io/brand/affiliatecode).

You can toggle this on/off feature in the program builder page, when UTM links are enabled, in the tracking settings card. When this toggle is enabled a shortened link should be generated right next to it in an input field ready to be copied.

Why shorten affiliate links?

  1. Shorter links are more shareable, as they take up less space and are less likely to get truncated when shared on social media platforms.
  2. Shorter links can be customized with your brand name, making them more visually appealing and reinforcing brand recognition.
  3. Links often come with built-in analytics that allow you to track clicks and monitor the success of your affiliate marketing campaigns.

Overall, shortening affiliate links can help to increase engagement, improve branding, and optimize your affiliate marketing efforts, making it an essential tool for any marketer looking to succeed in today’s digital landscape.

How to shorten your affiliate links

To shorten affiliate links, head to the Programs tab of your dashboard and select the program containing the affiliate’s links you wish to shorten.

From the program builder page, scroll to the Tracking Settings card. If UTM links is enabled, you’ll see an option to shorten affiliate links. Toggle this on and hit publish to save your changes.

Now, all existing and future affiliate links in this program will be shortened in the following format:
