How Wildbird Drove $196K in Affiliate Revenue With Social Snowball

If you partner with influencers for word-of-mouth marketing, the tool you use can make or break your ability to streamline processes, track performance, and scale operations. Confusing dashboards, clunky user interfaces, and time-consuming workflows make it hard for brands to drive revenue through affiliates and scale growth.

Wildbird, a babywearing brand, had no shortage of loyal fans and influencers eager to promote their products. But their previous affiliate platform, Impact, made basic tasks like sharing links, tracking performance, and sending product gifts frustrating for both them and their creators.

Switching to Social Snowball gave the brand access to automated product seeding, customizable affiliate tiers, and built-in content tracking, letting Wildbird turn a chaotic program into a high-impact channel that runs smoothly in the background.

In under 2 months, the brand saw:

  • $196K+ in affiliate-attributed revenue.
  • 9.2x ROI on affiliate spend.
  • $19.01 cost per acquisition, significantly lower than paid ads.

“Social Snowball just makes everything so much easier. Everything's right there in one place. It’s user-friendly, it shows me top-performing affiliates, and the social listening feature has been a game-changer for finding and repurposing content. I love it.”

Ashley Hawkins, Affiliate Marketing Manager

Challenges: Manual work, frustrated creators, and no way to scale

Wildbird had no problem with demand since loyal customers and influencers were already spreading the word organically. But their existing affiliate platform, Impact, was holding them back. Instead of driving growth, the system created friction, delays, and constant back-and-forth.

Here’s what wasn’t working:

  • A clunky platform that confused creators: Wildbird used Impact to manage affiliates, but the interface left creators frustrated. Basic tasks like finding links or discount codes weren’t intuitive, and most affiliates ended up emailing the team for help.

“It was just not very user-friendly; they’d have to email me because they couldn’t see their codes. The only thing visible on their dashboard was sales.”

  • Hours lost to manual gifting and order entry: Influencer seeding was a daily drain. The Wildbird team had to enter affiliate orders into Shopify one by one, a task that often took close to an hour every day.

“Through Impact, I was manually putting all of our orders into Shopify and sending them out.”

  • Little control over who joined the program: Unlike platforms with automatic enrollment, Wildbird preferred to keep things selective, reserving codes for creators who aligned with the brand and reached out proactively. But their existing tools didn’t offer that level of control.

“I like the idea of it being a little more exclusive.”

Despite years of running an affiliate program, Wildbird knew it couldn’t scale in its current form. They needed a system that was easier for creators to navigate and one that didn’t take up hours of manual work every week.

Solution: Automating gifting, organizing creators, and scaling with less work

Wildbird was looking for a platform that would cut down on manual work, make life easier for creators, and give them full control over the program. Once they tested Social Snowball, it became clear that the platform was the right fit for their affiliate management.

Here’s how Wildbird leveraged Social Snowball to improve their affiliate program:

Automated influencer seeding with the Welcome Gift feature

With their previous platform, the team spent nearly an hour each day manually entering orders into their Shopify dashboard to send influencers their welcome gift.

After the switch to Social Snowball, creators could now enter their shipping info and select a product, and the order is automatically fulfilled through Social Snowball.

“That feature on Social Snowball is actually what sold me on the program.”

Built a structured, tiered affiliate program

Wildbird moved away from a single affiliate offer. Instead, they created a four-tier system that aligned rewards with engagement, content quality, and long-term potential:

  • Discount code tier: 10% off code for basic affiliates
  • Jammies/Sleep Sack tier: Free jammies or sleep sack for mid-level partners
  • Aerial tier: Free aerial carrier for high-potential content creators
  • VIP tier: 15% commission for top-performing affiliates

“I love the different tiers within Social Snowball. It helps me organize my affiliates a lot easier.”

Let creators customize their affiliate code

Wildbird wanted each of their affiliates to feel like an extension of their brand. On Social Snowball, creators could easily customize their code to match their name, brand, or audience.

“We’ve had so many requests to customize their code so that it’s not just like four numbers after.”

With the tool, affiliates could now easily grab their links and track their performance, leading to more shares and fewer support issues.

“It’s so much easier for them to find it and just link it and go.”

Built-in social listening to track and repurpose UGC

With features like social listening and link tracking, the brand was able to monitor who’s posting, what kind of content performs, and maintain a library of UGC that they can easily repurpose.

“It shows me my top-performing affiliates… the social listening feature has been a game changer for finding and repurposing content.”

The tool constantly helps them catch coupon leaks, even identifying leaks to coupon sites, something they couldn’t catch on their prior platform.

“We recently found a code leak with one of our influencers on Social Snowball. I love that you can see exactly where the clicks are coming from.”

Results: Generated $196K revenue saved and 10 hours per week

By switching to Social Snowball, Wildbird was able to turn their previously complex affiliate program into a structured channel that generated real revenue and took up less overhead.

In just under 2 months, the team achieved:

  • $196,208 in affiliate-attributed revenue
  • 9.2x ROI on affiliate spend
  • $19.01 average CPA, beating traditional paid ads by a wide margin

Internally, the time savings were just as significant. Automating influencer gifting with the Welcome Gift feature helped the team reduce 6-10 hours of manual work every week, freeing up bandwidth for creator strategy and product launches.

“It’s just so much less work for me. Before, I was manually entering orders into Shopify. Now it’s all automated.”

By combining automation, smarter tools, and flexible rewards, Wildbird built an affiliate program that generates compounding revenue with enough bandwidth to scale it.
